A brief Account of the black day at Jamia Sibtain
I was physically present inside the imam bargah Jama-e-Sibtain within the ladies section with my niece (6 years) and nephew (3 years) whereas my father and my brothers were there in the men’s section.
I’ll explain what happened that black night.
My family is a regular listener of Allama Zameer Akhter’s majalis particularly my father. At Jama-e-Sibtain, there is a multimedia screen that they normally put up in the women’s section to see Alama sahab’s majlis live. That night I saw on the screen that as soon as Allama Sahab sat on the member, a person got up from the left shouting a naara, to this there was another person responded to that naara from the right side and got up. All of a sudden the entire crowd sitting close to Allama sahib around 40-50 people got up saying ‘labbaik ya Hussain (AS)’ (these people were sitting there with their shoes on them and also carrying stones) and someone amongst them threw off the camera to the ground and the image disappeared. But there a window that opens into the men’s section, few ladies ran towards that window, it was horrifying as they were shouting loud and attacked Allama sahib with stones, they started kicking the member and tore the alams placed on the member.
The azadar tried to save allama sahib and took him inside (behind) into the room. Someone fired gunshots, I cannot explain how horrifying and traumatic it was, the kids started crying, people were running outside. I called my father from there to find out if they were all okay. My father and brother asked me to stay in until they inform further.
These people later started gathering outside Jamae Sibtain, almost 400-500. We were sitting inside like hostages since we were told to not step out as these people would attack us. We stayed inside for almost 3 and a half straight hours like refugees, the kids were so scared and were asking different questions and crying. Few men then decided to take allama sahib to a safe location. These men including my brother surrounded allama sahib (to save allama sahib from attack) and walked through the crowd. You would not believe that these people attacked allama sahib again, they started pushing our people to reach allama sahib, their nail marks/bruises are still there on Allama sahab’s left cheek, they were saying ‘maar do issey’. But with the grace of Maula, Allama sahib is safe however, he got hurt.
You know whats most disgraceful is that hundreds of police and rangers were all standing like robots and doing nothing. They didn’t even help! Police said that ‘we don’t know whom to stop because both the parties are shias and saying labbaik ya Hussain (AS)’ How ridiculous such an explanation is? My brother was so angry he went to these rangers and asked them what were they doing standing here and doing nothing! It was a state of helplessness, too sad!
We stayed inside for some more time and left for home quite late. The kids were so traumatized that my bhabi said that they were waking up after every hour and could not sleep well for so many nights.
Maula (AS) Allama Sahab ko salamti aur sehat den!
